Hi my name is Dale Martoglio. I am the new owner of the Barkel Breeding Station U.S.A. I obtained this from Charlie Klipsch in October of 2006. I first meet Charlie when I joined the world of pigeon racing in 2003. The members of WCI Central Indiana club got me started in racing. When I joined, Charlie was my mentor and since we have become good friends.
My first season of racing young birds, I got beat by 30 seconds to a minute and a half. I was able to race 1 old bird race and took 3rd place in the 100 mile race. In 2004 and 2005 I moved in June both years. So I was unable to train with such a late start. Finally in 2005 I settled in Dieterich, ILL. I was finally able to get a full year of racing in 2006. I was very competitive this year. I won several races including our Futurity race. I also recieved awards for loft of the year and won average speed. In June of 2006 I got married. My wife Cathy and step daughter Adrienne help me with the pigeons.
I hope to have continued success in my racing. For my next years racing season I plan to have several of my new acquired birds on my race team.
